GENRE VIDEO ANALYSIS: 3

Genre video analysis 3
Oasis- Stand By Me
CCTV: This video includes CCTV footage foreshadowing the event of a crime/violence.It also creates an unclean grungy effect this therefore results in the video looking like it is suited to an indie band.
Black and white: The black and white effect is a common convention of alternative/indie music videos much like the French new wave style. This adds a seriousness to the video making it seam darker and gloomier which relates to the videos hidden message not to judge people before you know the whole story. Mostly the CCTV footage is in black and white to create authenticity .
Over exposed colour: This over exposed colour creates a feeling of surrealism, so not being real, this therefore suggests that what we are seeing at first is not the whole picture foreshadowing the later revealed hidden meaning.
Close up shots of lead singer: This is a common convention of all music videos to emphasis the main role of the lead singer.
Performance footage: We see the band performing within the video  a few times however we don't focus upon this as this is mainly a concept video.
Supposed violence(stealing, arguments and car crash): We see what we assume at first is vandalism, violence and theft, this is a predominant theme within the video however we are mislead through quick short cuts but towards the end these are all revealed to be for a good cause.
